INSPIRATION (Giving direction to your day) - OLA AINA

RELATING WITH PROPHECIES 1

Text: So I prophesised as I was commanded; and as I prophesised, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.” Ezk 37:7

At the beginning of a year like this there are specific prophetic words spoken over individuals and congregations. This is one of the basic things that make the year new and not just a change in the date. It’s important for us as individuals to locate such prophetic words position ourselves to relate with them all through the year. It’s important for us to emphasise again that God works and operates in our lives purely by his word. God is surely committed to whatever he has said concerning us. On God’s part it’s a concluded deal. But the fulfilment of these prophecies will depend on the extent to which we relate with it.

Ezekiel said “I prophesied as I was commanded...”, in other words I took what God had said and began to work with it. What God had said became the basis of addressing the hopeless situation that he saw. Did you notice what Ezekiel said “I prophesied as I was commanded...” He began to speak exactly what God said. Prophesying is not speaking hysterically outside us; it’s simply picking whatever God had said and declaring it over our lives and situations.

From this account of Ezekiel we can also learn that relating with prophecies will entail completely agreeing with God. If you don’t agree with God you may not even declare what he has said. Ezekiel had to see the issue on ground in the same way God was seeing it. Dry bones were everywhere but God was seeing an exceeding great army. I want to ask you to agree with God in your life this year. If you agree with the situations around you it will remain the way it was but if you agree with God you have given God the room to operate and work on your behalf. Dry bones are coming alive around you this year. An exceeding great army is emerging out of hopeless situations around your life.

PRAYER:
Lord I agree with every word that has been spoken over my life. I also submit myself to the authority of your word over my life.
