BARRIERS WITHIN

Text: “But the men that went up with him said, we be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.” Num 13:31

Most of the children of Israel that left Egypt did not get to the Promised Land. It was such an unfortunate thing. It was not Pharaoh that stopped them; it was not the red sea that swallowed them up.  It was easy for God to deal with that for them. At the end of the day it was a barrier within these people that stopped them from getting into the promised.

Dealing with external forces is not even as important as dealing with internal forces. The scripture refers to this as “…Imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God…” 2 Cor 10:5. This is actually where the greatest challenges are found. Thoughts and imaginations that opposes divine counsels within a man.

It was not the enemy that hindered them but their wrong imaginations of their worth and value. The ten spies had a wrong personal disposition to life. They were more enemy-minded than they were God-minded. The greatest limitations in life are not the ones without but the ones within us. What you are not within it will be difficult to become without.

Wherever you want to go in life, whatever you want to accomplish in life we must first of all undergo the journey within our hearts and accomplish the feats within us.

Whatever will take place in our outer life must first of all take place within us. What you don’t become within you cannot become without.

An outward journey begins from an inward journey. This people lost the battle even before it began. They already lost within. Deal with yourself on the inside. Don’t allow wrong thoughts to go unchallenged.
