MISSIONARY CHRISTIAN

Text: “Send us around the world with the news of your saving power and your plan for all mankind.” Ps 67:2 (LVB)

This is a description of a Christian that has discovered God’s mission and purpose for their lives. This is a life that has a well defined focus in life. The greatest use of the human life is to use it in fulfilling God’s assigned purpose for our lives. It’s purely a waste of life that is spent outside God’s purpose.

Each one of us as believers is on a mission. We must carry that sense of responsibility in life. It therefore means that everything about our lives is measured from that perspective. This affects our overall outlook on life. We carry that sense of mission to our offices, to our classrooms, to the market. We don’t have to travel to a foreign mission field to be on mission. We are on a mission to everywhere we go. If you are a physician you are on a mission to your patients, if you are a lawyer you are on a mission to your clients. If you are a student you are on a mission to your classmates. If you are selling in the market you are on a mission to your customers.

We are on a mission to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of God as waters covers the sea. This is a mandate on our lives. There are so many unsaved people that we come across every day. It’s our solemn responsibility to present the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to them. The greatest use of the human life is to help a fellow man to know God. There is nothing that we can offer people close to us that will last forever other than helping them to have an encounter with Jesus Christ. That encounter will change their lives forever. Someone in Church recently shared a testimony of how he was delivered from the bondage of alcohol and tobacco by an encounter with God. The gospel of Christ is the power of God that changes the life of a man from the terrestrial to the celestial. From ungodliness to righteousness. It’s an awesome privilege to be used by God to bring such a change to lives around us.  Go out every day with this sense of mission. God is counting on you. You are equipped for it.

PRAYER:

Lord I go out today on a mission to represent you and present you to everyone around me.
