INSPIRATION (Giving direction to your day) - OLA AINA

EAGLE BELIEVER 1 - 3

Text: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles....” Isa 40:31
About twenty years ago I came across a message on tape titled “The Eagle believer” By Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, it made so much impact on my life at that tender age of trying to develop myself as a believer. In the next couple of days I will share insights with you from the life of the Eagle. I want to encourage you to learn how to spend quality time with God on a daily basis. In the face of busy schedule we must fight for our time with God. Time spent with God is a time when our inner strength is renewed to face the various challenges. The time you spend reading a material like this one is never wasted. It’s actually a time you gain momentum for your day. Waiting on the Lord includes spending quality time in the word of God, taking time to pray, taking time to minister to the Lord in worship all by you.
There are so many struggles in life mostly because the inner strength to go over the mountains is missing. The eagle is a bird that rides on the wind. The eagle does not flap its wings; it simply waits for the storm and then glides on the storm. The storm actually carries the eagle up rather than bring it down. The eagle does not struggle it waits for the storm. The storms of life are not meant to bring you down; they are meant to carry you up to God’s plan and purpose. The inner strength to ride on the storm of life is what we receive as we wait on the Lord on a daily basis.
If you are going to embark on a major project or a significant journey don’t just do it casually. Before you set out spend time waiting on God. God will give you ideas, strategies and instructions that will take you far above the storms on your way. You are mounting up as eagles.
PRAYER:
In the name of Jesus I mount up with the wings of the Spirit above every storm of life.

EAGLE BELIEVER 2
Text: “Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high... From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.” Job 39:27, 29
The eagle has the most powerful sight among the birds. It can see from afar off. Eagles have a strong vision. This quality singles them out among the birds. It often sees some small animal on the ground and flies down to catch it.
Having a strong vision is a major requirement of making a success of our lives. The vision of a man determines how far he can go and what he can accomplish in life. We are not just talking about the physical sight; we are talking of an inward vision. If all you can see in your life is your immediate environment then your life will be limited by what you are seeing. But for you to grow beyond where you are you must see beyond where you are. The greatest tragedy in life is not physical blindness but internal blindness. The eyes that are looking are much but the eyes that see are few. It’s a major prayer that we should pray in life that the eyes of our understanding may be open to see. Seeing clearly into the plans and purpose of God for our lives.
One major aspect of vision is seeing possibilities where others see problems. Seeing a way out where others see a barrier. If all you can see is what everybody is seeing then your life will be limited to what everybody is doing and becoming. The uniqueness of your vision is what differentiates you in the sea of humanity.
God had to teach us the power of seeing afar off from the life of Abraham. God brought him out to look northward, southward, eastward and westward. God told him as far as his eyes could see shall be given to him. How far can you see? How much do you see yourself accomplishing in life. Like an eagle allow the Spirit of God to open your eyes to see afar off.
 CONFESSION:
My eye of understanding is enlightened. I can see clearly and afar off into God’s plans for me.

EAGLE BELIEVER 3
Text: “Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagles.” Ps 103:5
The eagles have a renewal program. Eagles find a place of renewal. They don’t just go on like that until they drop dead one day. This is such a unique privilege that the eagles have. As they grow old, they go through a painful process of renewal. The eagle knocks its old beak on a rock to remove it. Once a new one grows it plucks its old feathers from its chests and wings and lives for another 30 years. It’s said that the eagles sheds its feathers every spring, and new ones come out; then it looks like a young bird. Once this is done the eagles can use its beak to get food better and faster. The feathers also become more powerful and effective.
Finding a place of spiritual renewal should be a constant part of our lives too as believers. If this is not done our spiritual feathers become weak and our effectiveness reduces. As we daily face challenges and we keep pouring ourselves out we may soon run out of “fuel”, this is why we must “refuel” to be able to keep running effectively.
Our minds must be constantly renewed as we read books that will sharpen our perspective about various aspects of life. If your mind is not renewed you will just find yourself thinking like the world and getting conformed to its standards. There are worldly pollutions all around us. Our minds are daily bombarded with wrong information and ideas that exalts themselves against the knowledge of Christ. This is why mind renewal is essential. So that we can cat down every wrong imagination and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
When this happens our youth spiritually speaking is renewed; then our lives become more effective and impactful.  Don’t get too carried away with daily chores and activities; they sap your spiritual energy. Like the eagles be renewed.

PRAYER:
My spiritual strength is renewed today. I shed off every old and worn out feathers. I take on new strength in my spirit.
