Let's go back a little to the definition of Soul Ties from our previous post on Soul Ties.

Meaning of Soul Ties:

Soul: the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being or animal, regarded as immortal.

Ties: attach or fasten (someone or something) with string or similar cord.

Soul Ties: A soul tie is a linkage (attach/fasten) in the soul realm (spiritually) between two people. It links their souls together, which can bring fourth both beneficial results or negative results. Beneficial in godly Marriage and negative results in Fornication and Adultery. 

How soul ties are formed

Your soul is considered your mind, your will and your emotions – your intellect, your desires and your feelings. You can be soul-tied to a person, place or thing and even to a demon. In other words, you can be mentally, emotionally and/or willfully bonded. A soul tie occurs when you have some type of void in your life. You try to fill this void by tying your soul to someone or something.

There maybe other ways soul ties are formed that I may not be aware of, but below are the most common:

Vows/Agreements/Oath: Vows are also other means of binding the soul. That is why vows are exchanged during marriage/wedding. It binds two or more people together. When you make a vow/oath with someone you invoke a divine witness unknowingly. Blood oath is the worse form of oath taking and usually needs a stronger power to break it.

Sexual relations: This is the best type of soul tie for couples. It is called a Godly soul ties, "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.", and the Godly soul tie between a husband and the wife that God intended him to have is unbreakable by man.

When a person has ungodly sexual relations with another person, (not your spouse) it is destructive. Those who have involved in different relationships finds it very difficult to bond with the right person because of the fragment of their souls.

Close Relationships: This can happen between a man and a man or a woman and a woman (Best friends) this is always as a results of spending time together, sharing same goals/visions, having same interest etc, this is good soul ties. However we have bad soul ties from Close relationship with someone too, this can be as a result of idolizing someone.

Remember Soul ties can happen as a result of having sex with someone, or they can be the reason that you have sex with someone who once had sex with. A soul tie usually makes one feel “in love” therefore making you want to be tied physically and emotional to them, Soul ties can also lead to homosexual between friends.

Soul Ties is also another reason people get married, and its very wrong to marry someone because your soul is tied to them. These marriages are miserable and empty and usually end in divorce. The shocking thing is soul ties also transfers demons.

How to break a soul tie

• If any sins were committed to cause this soul tie, repent of them! Fornication is perhaps one of the most common ways to create nasty soul ties.

• If gifts were given to you by the other person in connection with the sin or unholy relationship, such as rings, flowers, cards, bras, etc. get rid of them! Such things symbolize the ungodly relationship, and can hold a soul tie in place. Specially if these gifts reminds you of them.But, If you are still friends or in a relationship with no strings attached as boyfriend/girlfriend, you've repented of and forsaken the unholy practices you used to do in your relationship, then you can keep the gift, if it will have no negative side effect on you. But it will be good if you get rid of the intimate gifts he/she must have given you, e.g. pants, bras, singlet, boxers etc. Things such as flowers and love letters given during an adultery should be destroyed.

• Any rash vows or commitments made that played a part in forming the soul tie should be renounced and repented of, and broken spiritually. Even things like "I will love you forever", or "I could never love another man!" need to be renounced. They are spoken commitments that need to be undone verbally. The tongue has the ability to bring the soul great troubles and bondage as well as great freedom.
• Total Forgiveness for yourself and the other person(s) especially if you still feel bitter towards them.
• Renounce the soul tie. Do this verbally, and in Jesus Christ' name (if you are a Christian). Mention it by name. e.g. if its fornication or adultery including the person’s name.
• Break the soul tie in Jesus' name (if you are a Christian)! Do this verbally using your authority in Jesus. Mention it by name. e.g. if its fornication or adultery including the person’s name.
• Finally see a counselor to help you through the healing process.
