PSALM FORTY SIX
Text: “Therefore will not
we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into
the midst of the sea.” Ps 46:2
I want to encourage you to
read the entire Psalm, it’s so powerful. Every time I have a challenge on my
hands or something is bothering me I get into this Psalm. The Psalm is always
like cold water to a thirsty soul.
The essence of Psalms is
not to read them inside water to bath or drink, neither is it meant to be kept
under our pillow as we sleep. That may be religious but that is not the
purpose. The word of God that produce result for you is the one in your heart
and spoken from your mouth (Joshua 1:8), not the one under your pillow. The
word of God is supposed to leave the pages of scriptures and dwell in your
heart.
The essence of Psalms in
general is to receive encouragement from them. They are meant to serve as light
in our dark hours. Showing us the mind of God in trouble.
David went through the most
difficult seasons of life and in the midst of it all he said he will not fear
no matter what happens. Just imagine the earth been removed or the mountains
carried into the sea, David said “I will not fear”, that is a decision you have
to make too. No matter what is wrong make a decision ahead of it not to be afraid.
This is important because fear opens the way for the enemy to take advantage of
us. When fear takes over the enemy takes over.
No matter what happens
around you don’t ever lose sight of God on your side. He’s a very present help
in time of trouble. When the whole world is gone God is there for you. He lives
in you. You are too defended to fail.
CONFESSION:
God is my refuge and
strengthen. No matter what happens I will not be afraid.
