Text: “For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet
peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his
love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom
5:7-8
The new creation man is the beloved of the Lord. God has lavishly
bestowed his love on us. This love was demonstrated in the greatest sacrifice
that anyone could have offered on behalf of another. The uniqueness of God’s
love for us is that he did not even wait for us to be perfect; he loved us in
our worst state as sinners. He also
demonstrated his love for us by bringing us to the very class of himself – we
are called sons of God. He did not call us slaves. He brought us to his very
level so that we can function and operate at that same level of victory and
dominion. 1 John 3:1 says “Behold, what
manner of love the father bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons
of God...” The love of God has been shed lavishly in our hearts.
Please read this carefully; if we don’t understand God’s love for us
then we can never be satisfied by human love. The deepest need of man can only
be satisfied by the love of God. We must understand that we are not trying to
do everything right to earn God’s love. He loved us even in our sinful state.
The believer is the beloved of the Lord. You are not a love starved person
searching for love; you are rather a reservoir of love. God loves you so much.
So many people have been deceived and abused in their search for love. Look at
yourself in the mirror and declare to yourself God loves you.
If you think nobody loves you it will condition you to live like a
victim rather than a victor. It may even push you to enter into wrong
relationships that will further harm you. Accept God’s love for you. God is not
looking for your mistakes – He loves you extremely.
PRAYER:
Thank you Lord for bestowing so much love
on me. I accept your love over me as perfect and complete.
